Shigeru Sunada received his Ph.D. in Aeronautics and Astronautics in 1992 from the University of Tokyo, where he conducted research on a flapping wing flight. He then joined Kawachi Millibioflight Project in JST and continued the research. In 1997, he moved to Agency of Industrial Science and Technology, and in 2001 moved to Osaka Prefecture University, and in 2017 moved to Nagoya University. He is active in the areas of flight dynamics and aerodynamics related to a rotary wing and a fixed wing.
