Kosei ISHIMURA got a degree of Doctor of Engineering from University of Tokyo in 2001.

He is a professor of Waseda University since 2018. His major research area is precise structure and mechanism of spacecrafts. He was an assistant professor of Hokkaido University from 2001 to 2008 and an associate professor of ISAS/JAXA from 2008 to 2018. He was a structural engineer of ASTRO-H mission which was launched in 2016.
