Professor Kwanjung Yee

Prof. Kwanjung Yee received B.E, M.E and Ph.D in the aeronautical engineering at Seoul National University in 1992, 1994, and 1998, respectively. After finishing his military service, he joined the Rotorcraft Group of Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI) in 2002, where he played a crucial role in the localization planning of KMH(Korea Multirole Helicopter) at the head office of MND(Ministry of National Defense). Before he moved to Seoul National University in 2014, he had worked for Pusan National University for 9 years from 2005. Currently, he is a professor in the department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and is leading AVDL(Aerospace Vehicle Design Lab.). He was a visiting professor at Georgia Institute of Technology in 2009-2010.

He served as a member of board of directors of KSASS, KSIAM, KSCFE, and an executive director of AHS(American Helicopter Society) Korean chapter.

His main research area covers aircraft design and design methodology, rotorcraft aerodynamics, and aviation safety issues such as aircraft icing and wake hazards.
