Dr. Cho has been working in the field of aerodynamics, air-breathing propulsion and manned/unmanned aircraft design for more than 30 years. He has been conducting numerous funded projects from Korean government, Korean aerospace related industries and US companies such as Lockheed Martin and General Electric. He has published more than 100 peer-reviewed papers in the various international aerospace journals including KSAS of Korea, AIAA of USA and JSASS of Japan.

He holds a B.S. and a M.S. from Seoul National University, Seoul Korea. After his Ph.D. from Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN, USA, in 1988, he worked at Allison Gas Turbine Div., G.M., and taught at Purdue University and POSTECH, Pohang, Korea. After joining Hanyang University in 1983, he served as Head of the School of Mechanical Engineering, and Dean of College of Engineering. He also served as the President of KSAS(The Korean Society for Aeronautical & Space Sciences).

His present position includes: Executive Committee Member of ICAS(International Council for Aeronautical Sciences), Chief Technical Advisor to KAI(Korean Aerospace Industries and Advisor to ROKAF(Rep. Of Korea Air-Force).
