Susumu Teramoto received his Ph.D. in numerical simulation of aerodynamic stability of a reentry capsule from the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics of the University of Tokyo in 2000. He has been working for IHI from 1994 to 1997 where he engaged in research and development of supersonic propulsion system. He joined Institute of Space and Astronautical Science (ISAS) as a Research Associate in 1997. In 2001, he returned to the University of Tokyo as a Lecturer in Aerospace Propulsion. His main research interests covers various flowfield related to aero and space propulsion including numerical simulation, turbulent flows, transcritical flows, jet acoustics.
He is serving as an Editor-in-Chief of the journals of the Japan Society for Aeronautical and Space Sciences from 2019.
