Nobuyuki Tsuboi received his M. Sc. from Nagoya University in 1990. He then worked at Nagoya Aerospace System, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. In 1997, he entered the University of Tokyo and he received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering in 2000 from the University of Tokyo, where he conducted research on Rarefied Gas Dynamics. He then joined the Institute of Space and Astronautical Science, where he studied aerodynamics and combustion related to space vehicles. In 1999, he moved to Kyushu Institute of Technology, where since 2013 he has been a professor in Department of Mechanical and Control Engineering. He is active in the area of Supersonic Combustion, Detonation, Liquid Rocket Engine, Computational Fluid Dynamics, and Aerodynamics on Space Vehicle. He is serving as the associate Editor-in-Chief of JSASS journal Since 2014.
