Dr. Shigeru Saito has graduated from the University of Tokyo in 1980. He became the NRC Associate in NASA Ames Research Center since 1981.Two years later, he returned to japan and became as assistant professor in the University of Tokyo and then transferred to the National Aerospace Laboratory (later JAXA). During that days he has conducted the research on the helicopter Aerodynamics and Dynamics and Aeroacoustics. In NAL days, he has constructed the Multi-Purpose Rotary Test System for the low speed wind tunnel to establish the active device such as an active flap. Also he established the 3-dimentional unsteady Aerodynamic code (rFlow3D) to analyze the aeroacoustic characteristics such as BVI noise. He also has been playing the very fruitful role in the academic field and the helicopter world of not only Japan but also international area.
